Teachers Who Pray

Prayercast: Lament And Longing; Spiritual Clarity And Selfless Giving; Radical Renewal And Revival In America

Teachers Who Pray | Spiritual Clarity

But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” Luke 18:16-17 (NIV)

In today’s education landscape, teachers must create nurturing environments where students feel seen, heard, and valued. Cultivating camaraderie involves acts of acknowledgment, creating a safe classroom, and promoting inclusivity and respect. By fostering community, celebrating diversity, and integrating spiritual principles, teachers can positively impact students’ lives and help them develop a strong moral compass.

Prayercast: Lament And Longing; Spiritual Clarity And Selfless Giving; Radical Renewal And Revival In America

Prayer Of Adoration

Adoration. Oh Lord, you are worthy to be praised. I adore you and praise you Lord for you are sovereign. You are always in control and you cause all things to work together for my good and your glory. When I feel anxious in the seasons of unknown and uncertainty, I choose to trust you and rest in your sovereignty for you to guide me, protect me, and sustain me.

Jesus, you said I can call the Almighty God, Abba, Daddy. I praise you, Abba, for when I was born again, you adopted me into your eternal family. You are El Roi, O God, the God who sees me. Like Hagar in the Bible, there are times I have felt unseen, rejected, and abandoned by people. As you saw Hagar in her suffering, you also saw me in my suffering and you cared for me.

I praise you, Jehovah Roi, the Lord our Shepherd. Jesus, by the Lord our Shepherd, that King David wrote about in Psalm 23. Like sheep, I am easily distracted and I stray away from you and the flock but you are always with me and watching over me. You have carried me through every storm and trial. In you, I have everything I need, including goodness and mercy all the days of my life. You are Jehovah Shalom, the Lord who is in peace. That is a peace that only you can provide. It is a peace that the world can’t understand.

In the midst of tests and trials, when I cry out to you, O Jesus, you have granted me your peace, because you are Jehovah Shalom. I praise you, Jehovah’s child, the Lord will provide. I praise you, Lord, for you have provided the Holy Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, to die for my sin and the sin of the world. I can confidently approach Jehovah Jireh on the throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace to help me in time of need. I need you Lord every day in every situation in every place. I praise you.

Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals. O Lord Jesus, I praise you, for you have healed me and restored me from the brokenness of my past that has impacted my heart, mind, emotions, and body. As I surrender to you daily and continue to walk with you, acknowledging all my ways to you, you continue to mend my heart and bring healing and prosperity to my soul.

I praise you that when I depart from this world, there will be no sickness in my resurrection body. I will for all eternity experience only your righteousness, joy, and peace. I thank you, praise you, and adore you, my loving Father, my Daddy in Heaven, my Jesus, the Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit, my friend, my advocate, and my Lord. In your name, we pray, Jesus. Amen.

Prayer Of Confession

Prayer of confession. I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said I will confess my transgressions to the Lord and you forgave the guilt of my sin. Psalm 32:5. Father god, we come boldly to your room with this prayer of confession. We confess that we don’t always seek you and your will. At times, we are so focused on how we want things to be, look, and run that we run ahead with our assumptions, focuses, and desires in our wills and plans, foolishly forgetting or failing to seek you in the process.

Father God, we confess that at times we are not showing the fruits of your spirit in how we deal with others, ourselves, and even in our relationship with you. We may fail to show love and experience your joy. We may forget to seek your peace that surpasses all understanding. We may lose patience. We may fail to show kindness. We may not walk in goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, or self-control. We confess anything known or unknown to us for the next 30 seconds on this line.

Father God, we confess that at times, we don’t glorify you. We may take the honor and praise without thanking you privately or publicly. We confess that we are not often as humble as we need to be, as humble as you deserve for us to be. Without you, we are nothing and can do no good thing. We are only standing here because you saw fit for us to be alive in this season, teaching at these schools with these students. Many were our plans but your plans persist and they prevail.

Jeremiah 29:11 shows us that your plans are to prosper and not to harm us. Plans to give us hope in the future, we are not fearful of what you have called us to do in each and every season. We confess that we don’t always seek your will in your plans. We often have trouble wanting to do your will when it collides with what our flesh desires. We know that the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.

We confess that we need you at all times and do not want to be prideful in thinking that we can do anything apart from you, God. We confess that we need you in all areas every moment of every day of our lives. We desire to grow closer to and remain in community with you. We ask for forgiveness of our sins and receive your help in repentance of our sins so we can truly dwell in your house forever. In Jesus mighty name, Amen.

We confess that we need God at all times. We do not want to be prideful thinking that we can do anything apart from Him. Share on X

Prayer Of Thanksgiving

Prayer for Thanksgiving. Lord, I give you thanks for the leadership we have in the US Department of Education. I give you thanks for the state board of education and all the members that are there for the state board of each state. Lord, I thank you for their leadership and service. I thank you for giving them a heart of education so that they can walk into that position and do what is best for students.

Lord, I thank you for putting your hand over them, guiding them, and finding ways to work through the devil’s system to show your glory. I thank you for that. I thank you for your hand being over those situations. I’m grateful for politicians and lawmakers who are making decisions and laws around education. I thank you for local school board members, superintendents, principals, and assistant principals. I thank you for their service and hearts. I am so grateful that they are there to do what is best for students, the school, staff, and teachers.

Lord, I thank you when they take a moment to communicate with all stakeholders and they do their best to be transparent. Lord, there were many storms in Northeastern Oklahoma. I thank you that our administration and superintendent took the time to message all stakeholders and let them know that students were taking shelter, were going to be safe, and how they were going to proceed with check-in and check-out.

Lord, there’s so much in the logistics of the everyday school day. These leaders take on that burden with truth, grace, and love. They do it with sacrifice and heart. I thank you for that, Lord. Lord, I thank you for when they take the opportunity to lift the students. They know the students and what they’re interested in. They’re congratulating them or showing up for their activities. Lord, I thank you for the leaders who stepped in and did that for students, staff, and teachers when they lifted them, Lord.

I thank you when our leaders are good examples. I thank you when they have integrity, make good decisions, and follow through with them. Oftentimes, they’re making those decisions in the hardest of times with the biggest controversial times. I thank you that you’re making a way for them. Your hand is over them. Lord, I thank you to the leaders who are willing to step into a classroom and reconnect with the students so that they make sure that they have the students’ hearts, minds, and interests first.

When leaders have integrity and are able to make good decisions in the hardest and most controversial times, God’s hands are over them. Share on X

I praise you, Lord, for the moments of connection between our administration, politicians, and lawmakers with our students, teachers, staff, and schools, Lord. They have those moments of connection. They see the goodness. They have those sparkle moments so they can feel the gratitude themselves for the way you are working in our schools. Lord, I thank you for the laws and procedures that protect our students’ safety in our schools. They protect our staff and teachers’ safety, Lord.

When it protects their academic interests and invests in our schools and our students’ creative and extracurricular activity interests, Lord, I thank you for being there and having your hand over every situation and all of our leaders. Lord, we know that to lead is a big job. Coming and submitting under authority is also a big job. I thank you for the leaders who take so many staff members and teachers under their wings. I pray that you bless them with your goodness. I thank you. Amen.

Prayer Of Supplication

Prayer of supplication. Oh, righteous Holy Father, the political, judicial, and spiritual crisis in this nation is not unlike what Isaiah witnessed in his time. We echo his prayers of lament and longing. Our transgressions are multiplied before you, O Lord. Our sins testify against us for our transgressions are with us. We know our iniquities, transgressing, and denying the Lord turning back from following you, Oh God. Speaking oppression and revolt. Conceiving and uttering from the heart. Lying words for justice are turned back and righteousness stands far away.

Truth has stumbled in the public squares and uprightness cannot enter. Many are those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter. Therefore, justice is far from us and righteousness does not reach us. We look for light but all is darkness. We look for brightness but we walk in deep shadows.

Like the blind, we grope along, feeling our way like people without eyes. At midday, we stumble as if it were twilight. We look for justice but there is none for deliverance. It is far away. Yet, your hand is not shortened that it cannot save, nor is your ear dull that it cannot hear. Since ancient times, no one has heard, no ear has perceived, and no eye has seen any god besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him.

You come to the help of those who gladly do right and remember your ways. Have mercy on us. Forgive our transgressions, strengthen us to turn from evil, love your truth, and walk in your ways. O, that you would rend the heavens and come down and the mountains would tremble before you. Come, make your name known to your adversaries. Come, cause the nations to tremble in your presence. Come, ignite our hearts to fear your name. Ignite my heart to fear your name.

Our transgressions are multiplied before you, O Lord. Our sins testify against us, justice is turned back, righteousness stands far away, and truth stumbles in the public squares. Lord, we cry out to you. We, your people, intercede on behalf of this nation. Oh, dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your kind invitation to seek you. We eagerly come to you with our country’s great needs. We ask for your help to bless. We pray for our nation.

Bless our nation, Lord God. We’re calling on you, Lord, to draw near to us in our need. Lord, please purify your church. Renew the right spirit within us so that we can offer to our needy culture, the gospel. Pour out your spirit on those who don’t trust you as the savior of the world. Save our families, friends, and neighbors. Revive our nation, Holy Spirit, and use us in any way you want to to that end. Have compassion on our nation, Father. Cleanse us through your Son’s atoning death, even as you abundantly pardon us.

Lord, we want you. We need you. We love you. Oh God, heal our anger and division, not just in our government but in our neighborhoods, church sanctuaries, schools, and classrooms. Lord, help us to repent and forsake our evil ways. Make us eager to follow your wisdom. Convict us where we are confused. Holy Spirit, give us spiritual clarity regarding the value of life, the meaning of marriage, and the sanctity of our God-given sexuality.

Lord, we need your power to stop worshiping our evil desires. We are so self-consumed, Father. Forgive us. Empower us, Lord, to follow Jesus’ path of selfless sacrifice. We pray for everyone running for office. We pray for everyone in the office and that they would all submit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ so that we would see a radical, renewal, and revival in our land. We pray for individual Christians, Lord, that as we go into the ballot box, we will go in and leave renewed by the Holy Spirit and be changed.

Lord, we pray that we, in America, will have a huge transformation. Lord God, where Christians are standing up and pursuing the narrow way. They would be salt and light, showing people the way, the truth, and the life. Lord, as teachers, we ask that you help us when we go back to school on Wednesday, discuss the state of our nation, and answer questions to our students, Lord. Give us your words and grace to comfort, dispel fear, and bring joy. Lord, we ask all these things in your matchless, precious, powerful name, Jesus. Amen.
