Prayercast: Fear Of God, Teachable Hearts, And Healing For Troubled Minds And Hearts
Prayer Of Adoration
Prayer of Adoration. Lord, I come to you with an open heart and I begin with Psalm 103:1 through 5. “Bless and affectionately praise the Lord, oh my soul, and all that is deep within me. Bless His holy name. Bless and affectionately praise the Lord, oh my soul, and do not forget any of his benefits. Who forgives all of your sins, who heals all of your desires, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you lavishly with loving kindness and tender mercy, who satisfies your years with good things so that your youth is renewed like the soaring eagle.”
Lord, I bless you. I bless the Lord. How do we bless the Lord? We speak well of you. We remember and speak of your abundant generosity, and we will not forget all of the benefits because that is a crucial step in blessing the Lord. Lord, the benefits include care and provision. As we start this New Year, we ask for your care and we ask for your provision as we take care of students. Lord, we ask for your steadfast love and we know that your love pursues us.
Lord, we ask for your mercy and your grace, that we can be a light and Shine for others. Lord, your benefits are forgiveness and healing, whether that healing is physical, moral or spiritual, Lord, you’re there. You’re so full of grace that healing is always ready for us. Lord, you are righteous, just and kind. Lord, while we do a lot to make many people angry around us, you are slow to anger and you still give us grace. You were always faithful. Lord, I praise you. You are Yahweh. You are The Great I Am. I praise you. With every breath with every inhale and every exhale, we speak your name and we praise you. Amen.
Prayer Of Confession
Prayer of Confession. Dear Heavenly Father, we come to confess our sins to each other, and to pray for each other so that we may be healed. Your word tells us that the prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective. We acknowledge our sins to you because you are faithful and just and you will forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. Your word tells us that when we conceal our sins, we do not prosper, but when we do confess and renounce our sins, we find mercy. When we become aware that we are guilty of missing the mark, we must confess in the ways we have since.
When we conceal our sins, we do not prosper. When we confess and renounce our sins, we find mercy. Share on XFather, these are just a few of the areas we will confess. We acknowledge that during these first few days of school that we’ve been with the precious children and young people you have entrusted to us during the school day and for some of us in before and after school programs, that we have sinned and fallen short of your will for our lives. We pray for forgiveness for the times we chose to lean on our own understanding and did not acknowledge you in all our ways. As a result, our ways got jumbled, messy, muddy and confused instead of being straight and clear.
We pray for forgiveness for the times we chose to let pride get in the way, and we refuse to humble ourselves and listen to your voice. Instead, we steamrolled over our students’ feelings and emotions as we gave in to our flesh and lost our tempers and vented anger. We pray for forgiveness for the times we chose to become anxious and worried when our well-thought-out lesson plans didn’t work the way we expected or when the seating charts and locker assignments turned out to be disasters. Instead of praying and asking for your wisdom, we chose to panic and complain.
We pray for forgiveness for the times we chose to prejudge students based on past interactions with their siblings, parents, or other family members instead of asking you to help us see our students through your eyes of love, compassion, mercy and grace. We pray for forgiveness for the times we chose to let the spirit of fear dominate our lives when being faced with new and instructional initiatives, when listening to alarming news reports or when hearing about school mandates that are contrary to your work. Instead, acknowledging that the spirit of fear must be subordinate to the power, the love and the discipline that comes from you, Lord.
Father, we come near to you and we know that you will come near to us. We wash our hands of these sins and we ask for help to purify our hearts and for help for the time we find ourselves being double-minded. We rejoice as we repent and turn to you, Lord, that you take away our sins and that we can experience a time of refreshing in you. We praise you, Lord Jesus, and we pray in your precious name. Amen.
We rejoice that as we repent and turn to You, Lord. You take away our sins and we can experience a time of refreshing in You. Share on XPrayer Of Thanksgiving
Prayer of Thanksgiving. God, we come before you with this prayer of thanksgiving. The Bible says to come to your course with thanksgiving is Psalms 100:4, and we spend 15 seconds now not to ask you for anything but just to thank you. Father God for being sovereign. You rule and reign over the entire universe and your will is supreme.
Thank you for your will for our life. You woke us up this morning, kept us safe as we came and went and helped us fulfill your given assignment in our life. We thank you for being gracious and giving us your grace. We stumble and fall but we can run to you in repentance and be saved. You convict us by our perfect Holy Spirit so that we do not have to continue down the paths of unrighteousness but are saved and live according to your perfect will.
Thank you, Father, for grace in us to do what you have called us to do. We need to worry about how we would do something because whatever you bring us to, we can trust in you to guide us when we see, hear and listen to and for you. We thank you for your peace. So many things happen around us, but your perfect peace is available to us. We thank you that you keep our minds and give us the minds and the hearts of Christ so that we can seek and have comfort in your word, voice, promises correction into us.
Thank you, Father God, for being everything that we need and always giving us more than enough. As your children, we don’t have to fear what comes next, worry about where our next meal is coming from or anything that is of a worldly concern, Father God, or even a spiritual concern because you have already provided everything that we need in this life and in the life to come.
Psalms 91:5 through 10, “You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.”
In Jeremiah 29:11, “’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope in the future.’” Thank you, Father, for your word; it allows us to know you and have a relationship with you. It allows us to see what is important to you and how you have prepared us for what lies ahead. We thank you for sending your son, Jesus Christ, to provide salvation and a relationship with you and we thank you for our Helper and our Advocate, your Holy Spirit. We love and honor you and all of our ways, Father. Amen.
Prayer Of Supplication
Prayer of Supplication. Dear Abba, you are the great educator, the teacher of teachers, Hallelujah. There is no amount of knowledge we can gain that can compare with yours. Let us look to you first, for all we learn in awe and in wonder, your word teaches us that the fear of you, oh Lord, is the beginning of knowledge. Help us Lord to be hungry for learning, instead of satiated with thinking we know it all.
Dear Abba, You are the great educator, the teacher of teachers. There is no amount of knowledge we can gain that can compare with Yours. Share on XOh God, please grant us the wisdom to seek your way before we make our own decisions in our schools so that we may bless our students and colleagues. God, you are the true vine from which all good things come. Grant us discernment as we work with our students so that we may be able to recognize troubled minds and hearts, and in turn, lift them to you in prayer, write as we are teaching these precious children.
Lord, also lead us to the appropriate resources, counselors and therapists that you are using in schools for healing. Thank you, loving Father, for all the service providers who help children through trauma and abuse and grief. Give us, oh God, the words to learn comfort and peace to those students and staff members who are hurting in our schools. We ask you, Prince of Peace, to show yourself through those who are ministering to students and staff who are impacted by the shooting at Apalachee High School. Pour out your piece and walk with them through their pain because you are a compassionate Father who cares for and binds up the brokenhearted.
Lastly, Father, we ask you because you are limitless to give every Christian teacher a new measure of holy boldness and intentionality as they enter their buildings each day. Father, do not allow them to operate in their classrooms with any hint of fear or worry, but instead, remind them, oh creator, that they are your masterpieces created in Christ Jesus to do good things in and out of our schools and that you plan these things for all of us to do long ago. We love you, Lord Jesus. We want to be like you, Lord Jesus, and we trust you, Lord Jesus. To you be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
