Our conference theme this year is “Teaching in the Emergency Room,” and we will be providing a very focused look at childhood trauma. More specifically, we will explore the physical, emotional, and cognitive stress that trauma puts on children and what teachers/administrators can do to ensure that these students get a high-quality education, despite their trauma.
A medical doctor will lead the opening plenary on the physiological effects of childhood trauma so that teachers understand the latest brain science of trauma. Then, award-winning educators will lead break-out sessions on practical classroom and school-based strategies that can mitigate the educational damage caused by childhood trauma. In addition, TWP will lead educators into the worship of Jesus Christ, and we will make sure that every teacher there is individually prayed for.
